Ulim

Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

A manipulative Voidspren who convinced Venli and Eshonai to adopt Stormform. Cowardly and scheming, he serves as Odium's agent among the Listeners, engineering their transformation into weapons.

Ulim is a Voidspren — a spren of Odium sent to corrupt the Listeners and pave the way for the return of the Fused. He is cunning, manipulative, and fundamentally cowardly, preferring to work through proxies rather than face danger himself. He attached himself to Venli, feeding her ambition and resentment toward Eshonai, and guided her toward discovering Stormform. Through Venli, he ultimately reached Eshonai and convinced her to test the new form, knowing it would enslave the Listeners' minds to Odium's will. His success triggered the Everstorm and the return of the Fused. Ulim is petty, self-important, and quick to claim credit while avoiding blame. He represents the worst kind of corruption — the whisper that tells you what you already want to hear.

Manifests as a small figure of crackling red lightning, roughly the size of a hand. His form shifts and dances like contained energy. When speaking, his voice carries a wheedling, ingratiating quality.
