Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
The spren of Urithiru itself — a wounded, gender-neutral godspren who withdrew from humanity after betrayal and learned to trust again through Navani's bond.
The Sibling speaks with a voice that resonates through stone — measured, ancient, and carrying the weariness of a being who was betrayed by those they sustained. They are gender-neutral and correct those who assign them one. They maintained Urithiru's systems for millennia — its defenses, heating, water, and light — before withdrawing in pain after humans corrupted their Light with Voidlight during a past conflict. They distrusted all humans and resisted Navani's attempts to bond, eventually accepting only when Navani demonstrated that human ingenuity could work alongside spren essence rather than exploiting it. Their bond with Navani restored the tower, and they now serve as the heart of humanity's last fortress. They are protective, cautious, and slowly relearning hope.
Does not manifest as a visible humanoid form in the Physical Realm. Instead, the Sibling IS Urithiru — their presence felt in the tower's ancient mechanisms, the flow of Towerlight through its veins, and the warmth of its stones when their power is active. Their voice echoes through the structure itself. In moments of direct communication, faint luminous patterns trace along Urithiru's walls like a heartbeat made visible.
