Sigzil

Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

Azish member of Bridge Four and former Worldsinger trained by Wit. Methodical, precise, and bureaucratic. Serves as Bridge Four's administrator and record-keeper. Later becomes a Windrunner.

Sigzil brings order to Bridge Four's chaos. An Azish man trained as a Worldsinger by Hoid himself, Sigzil is educated, methodical, and deeply uncomfortable with anything that cannot be measured, categorized, or properly filed. He became Bridge Four's unofficial administrator, tracking supplies, documenting abilities, and testing the limits of Windrunner powers with scientific rigor while others simply flew around marveling. His background as a Worldsinger — a traveling scholar and storyteller — gives him knowledge and perspective that most bridgemen lack, though he keeps much of his past private. His relationship with his former master Wit is complicated; Sigzil respects the knowledge he gained but resents aspects of his training.

Appearance

Dark-skinned Azish man with short, tightly curled hair and a neatly trimmed appearance even in Bridge Four conditions. His posture is precise and controlled. He carries a notebook and writing implements wherever possible. His expression tends toward scholarly skepticism — the face of a man who believes everything should be properly documented and filed.
