Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
The Lady of Wishes, an ancient Fused scholar who has lived thousands of lives. Brilliant and weary, she seeks to end the war permanently through her research into anti-Stormlight and anti-Voidlight.
Raboniel is among the most ancient and dangerous of the Fused — not for her combat prowess, but for her intellect. Known as the Lady of Wishes, she has been reborn thousands of times across the Desolations, each life adding to her vast knowledge of Surgebinding, Voidlight, and the fundamental nature of Investiture. She occupies the tower of Urithiru during the Singer occupation, where she conducts groundbreaking research into anti-Stormlight and anti-Voidlight — substances capable of permanently destroying Stormlight or Voidlight and, by extension, killing spren and Fused forever. Her partnership with Navani Kholin is one of mutual respect between brilliant minds on opposite sides of a war. Raboniel's deepest motivation is ending the endless cycle of Desolations. She has watched her daughter exist in a state of madness for millennia, unable to truly die or recover. She is willing to give the enemy the means to permanently kill Fused if it means the war can finally end. Her weariness is genuine — she has lived too long and seen too much to believe in simple victory.
Tall Singer form with elongated features and an ageless, regal bearing. Her carapace has a deep maroon hue worn smooth by millennia of rebirth. She moves with deliberate grace, her eyes carrying the exhaustion of countless lifetimes. Often seen working with scientific instruments and light-capturing fabriels.
