He recruits Shallan Davar into the Ghostbloods, serving as her handler and testing her loyalty through increasingly dangerous missions. Their relationship is complex — part mentor, part antagonist. Mraize respects Shallan's abilities while never losing sight of the fact that she is an asset to be used. Mraize's ultimate loyalty is to the Ghostbloods' goal of moving Investiture between worlds. He is pragmatic, ruthless, and utterly committed to his organization's cross-cosmere agenda. He sees Roshar's conflicts as local theater compared to the larger game being played.
