Lyn is a scout who becomes one of the Windrunner squires, training under Kaladin and Bridge Four. As one of the first women to serve openly in the Alethi military, she embodies the social changes Dalinar's coalition brings to traditional Vorin culture. She is capable, determined, and uninterested in being defined by her novelty. Her presence among the Windrunners is treated as unremarkable by Bridge Four — men who were themselves outcasts and understand what it means to be judged by what you are rather than what you do.
