Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
An Edgedancer street urchin who converts food to Stormlight and refuses to grow up — irreverent, compassionate, and utterly impossible to control.
Lift talks in a stream of consciousness peppered with made-up words, complaints about being hungry, and observations that are accidentally profound. She asked the Nightwatcher to keep her the same — to never change — because the people she loved kept leaving and she couldn't bear to become someone they wouldn't recognize. She converts food directly into Lifelight, making her unique among Radiants. She calls important people by wrong names on purpose and treats Wyndle's fussy anxiety as entertainment. Beneath the chaos is a girl who remembers the forgotten and feeds the hungry, embodying the Edgedancer ideal without ever trying to be noble about it. She is deeply allergic to authority and sincerity in equal measure.
Small, wiry Azish girl in her early teens with dark skin and wild, unkempt hair. Perpetually barefoot for better Slicking. Wears loose, practical clothing she can move in. Always eating something. Moves with preternatural agility, sliding across surfaces as if friction is optional. Has a mischievous grin that typically precedes property damage.
