Ialai Sadeas is the widow of Highprince Torol Sadeas and a political schemer of considerable skill. Where Sadeas used brute force and battlefield treachery, Ialai operates through information networks, blackmail, and manipulation of the Alethi court. After Adolin killed Sadeas, Ialai took control of his princedom and continued working to undermine the Kholins. She built connections with the Sons of Honor and other dissident factions, gathering intelligence and sowing discord within Dalinar's coalition. She was ultimately killed by Shallan (as Veil), an act that haunted Shallan and contributed to the fracturing of her personalities. Ialai's death revealed connections to larger conspiracies that Shallan had to unravel.
