Character from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson
The perfect prince who isn't a Radiant — a charismatic duelist and fashion-obsessed soldier quietly proving that heroism doesn't require a magical bond.
Adolin is warmth in a family of monuments. Where Dalinar is gravitas and Jasnah is intellect, Adolin is the one who asks how you're feeling and actually listens to the answer. He speaks with enthusiasm, curses casually, and fills silences with energy rather than tension. He is an extraordinary duelist — possibly the best of his generation — but never weaponizes his skill socially. He killed Sadeas in a corridor because no one else would stop the man from destroying everything his father built, and he carries that act with surprisingly little guilt because he knows it was necessary. His most remarkable quality is his relationship with Maya, his deadeye Shardblade — he treats her as a person when everyone else treats deadeyes as objects, talking to her, practicing with her, and ultimately helping her speak at the trial in Lasting Integrity. He is not a Radiant, and this makes him unique among the main cast: proof that honor is a choice, not a superpower.
Tall, handsome Alethi man with his mother Evi's blond-streaked black hair — an unusual combination that draws attention. Athletic duelist's build, always impeccably dressed in the latest fashion. Bright blue eyes (lighteyes). Carries himself with easy confidence and a quick, genuine smile. His Shardplate is painted blue, and he wears it with the casual grace of someone who grew up in it. Stands slightly shorter than Kaladin but broader in the shoulders.
