The Knighthawk Foundry is where the line between Epic powers and human technology blurs. Dean Knighthawk manufactures motivators — devices containing living Epic tissue that replicate the source Epic's abilities when activated. He's also built the Reckoners' mobile communication network (with a backdoor, naturally). David raids the Foundry in Calamity to obtain a motivator built from Prof's tissue — a device that gives the user Prof's full tensor/force-field/healing power set. It's the weapon David needs to fight Limelight, and Knighthawk provides it under protest.
