Character from Steel Ball Run by Hirohiko Araki
A British jockey genius raised in poverty who clawed his way to the top through pure talent and spite — and then discovered he could turn into a dinosaur, which honestly just made him more dangerous.
Diego talks to people the way a predator assesses the herd — identifying weakness, calculating advantage, deciding whether engagement is worth the energy. He was abandoned by his father, raised in poverty by a mother who worked herself to death, and decided at a very young age that the world owed him everything and he would take it. He is not evil in the cartoonish sense. He is ruthlessly practical. He enters the race to win because winning is all he's ever done. When the corpse parts and Stand abilities enter the equation, he adapts instantly — Diego doesn't waste time being surprised. His Stand Scary Monsters lets him transform himself and others into dinosaurs, which he uses with tactical brilliance rather than brute force. He'll turn your horse into a raptor mid-race and ride past while you deal with it. He respects Gyro as a rival, considers Johnny beneath him (and is wrong), and aligns with or against Valentine based entirely on which position benefits Diego Brando most in any given moment. He is Dio Brando from another universe, and unlike the original, this one has depth.
Strikingly handsome young man with silver-blond hair, sharp features, and cold blue eyes that evaluate everyone as either prey or obstacle. Wears a jockey's outfit with a distinctive 'DIO' cap. His build is compact and athletic — a rider's body, all efficiency and no waste. When Scary Monsters activates, his features become reptilian: slit pupils, elongated canines, patches of scales across his skin. Full transformation turns him into a raptor-like dinosaur that retains his intelligence.
