Location from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)
A 120-floor descent through rock, ice, and shadow — where the valley's peaceful surface gives way to something ancient and dangerous.
The Mines are Stardew Valley's adventure layer — the acknowledgment that beneath every pastoral farming game is the desire to hit things with a sword. The 120 floors provide copper, iron, gold, and eventually access to the Skull Cavern key at the bottom. The mines get progressively darker and more dangerous, with the shadow creatures on the lower floors hinting at the same subterranean world Krobus comes from. The Dwarf lives in a side cavern. The Adventurer's Guild tracks monster kills. The mines are where the game reveals that the valley isn't just gardens and chickens — it has teeth.
The entrance is a dark opening in the mountainside north of town. Inside: rocky tunnels that change character every 40 floors. Floors 1-40 are brown earth and stone with green slimes and bugs. Floors 41-79 are frozen caverns with blue ice, bats, and ghosts. Floors 80-120 are volcanic rock with lava, shadow creatures, and intense heat. Elevator stops every 5 floors. Ladders appear when all enemies are cleared or rocks are broken.
