Ginger Island

Location from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)

A tropical island far from the valley — the game's largest expansion, hiding a volcano, a feral child, and puzzles that redefine what Stardew Valley can be.

Ginger Island is Stardew Valley's 1.5 update expansion — a massive new area accessible by repairing Willy's boat. It's practically a second game: tropical farming, a volcano mine, walnut puzzles, Leo's befriending arc, Qi's endgame challenges, and a resort where villagers vacation. The island recontextualizes the game — proving that the valley was never the whole world, just the farmer's starting point. The golden walnut hunt is one of the most satisfying collection quests, and the volcano dungeon adds combat variety the main mines lack.

Appearance

A lush tropical island with palm trees, colorful parrots, sandy beaches, and a volcano dominating the center. The north section has a farm area for growing tropical crops. The east has a jungle with puzzles and Leo's treehouse. The west has a beach resort that can be built. The volcano dungeon is the island's combat challenge. Golden walnuts are hidden everywhere.
