Item from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)
The valley's engagement ring — bought from a ghost on a rainy beach, given to the person you've spent a year learning to love.
The Mermaid's Pendant is how marriage happens in Stardew Valley. You buy it from the Old Mariner at the tide pools on a rainy day for 5,000g (requires an upgraded house and 10 hearts with a marriage candidate). Give it to your chosen partner, and the wedding happens three days later. The pendant's acquisition is deliberately romantic — you have to seek it out on a stormy beach from a mysterious figure. The game could have made marriage a menu option. Instead, it made it a quest through weather and coast and a conversation with something not quite alive.
A delicate blue pendant shaped like a mermaid's tear, strung on a thin silver chain. It glows faintly with oceanic light. The Old Mariner who sells it seems to be made of the same sea-stuff.
