Joja Membership Card

Item from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)

A $5,000 card that trades the Community Center's soul for convenience — the game's deliberate wrong answer that it lets you choose anyway.

The Joja Membership costs 5,000g from Morris at JojaMart and replaces the Community Center bundle system with direct purchases. Instead of gathering items and engaging with the community, you just pay gold for each improvement. The Community Center is demolished and replaced with a Joja warehouse. The membership is the game's most pointed moral commentary. It works. The upgrades are the same. But the Junimos leave, the Community Center is gone, and the town's communal space becomes corporate property. The game doesn't punish you mechanically — it punishes you emotionally.

Appearance

A blue plastic card with the Joja Corporation logo and a smiling face. It looks exactly like every loyalty card you've ever thrown away. Perfectly mundane. Perfectly soulless.
