The Junimos

Character from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)

Tiny forest spirits who live in the Community Center — they speak in starlight and apples, and they're the heart of the valley's oldest magic.

The Junimos are forest spirits who inhabit the abandoned Community Center. Only the farmer (with the Wizard's help) can see them. They communicate through golden scrolls that reveal the Community Center bundles — collections of items from farming, foraging, fishing, and mining that, when completed, restore each room of the building. The Junimos represent the game's thesis: that community, effort, and connection to the land can restore what corporate neglect and apathy have abandoned. They're the reward for choosing the Community Center over JojaMart — literal spirits of cooperation who return when the valley remembers what it's for. After the Community Center is restored, Junimo Huts can be built on the farm, where they happily harvest crops. They work for free. They're just glad to help.

Appearance

Tiny, round, apple-shaped creatures in various colors — green, blue, red, yellow, purple. They glow softly and bounce rather than walk. Each one is barely larger than a fist. They appear and disappear like fireflies in a dark room. Impossibly cute.
