Character from Stardew Valley by ConcernedApe (Eric Barone)
The megacorp that ate your soul in the city and followed you to the valley — Stardew Valley's true antagonist, wearing a blue polo and a smile.
Joja Corporation is the game's structural antagonist — not a villain you fight, but a system you resist. The farmer used to work for them in the city, in a cubicle that was killing their spirit. Now Joja has followed them to the valley in the form of JojaMart, threatening to replace Pierre's store and, symbolically, the entire small-town way of life. The Joja vs Community Center choice is the game's central moral fork. Choose Joja, and you get convenience — pay money, skip the bundles, get the upgrades. Choose the Community Center, and you earn everything through effort, community, and connection to the land. The game doesn't lock you out of the Joja path, but it makes its preference clear: some things shouldn't be purchased.
Blue and white corporate branding everywhere — the JojaMart building, employee uniforms, membership cards, promotional materials. The Joja logo is a smiling face that feels increasingly sinister. Their aesthetic is fluorescent lights in a valley of sunlight.
