Harvey runs the valley's only medical clinic with Maru's part-time help, and the weight of that responsibility never leaves him. He's a genuinely good doctor — thorough, careful, compassionate — but he's also an anxious person in a job that gives anxiety unlimited fuel. What if someone gets seriously hurt and the nearest hospital is in Zuzu City? What if he misses something? He's afraid of heights, which is both a character detail and a metaphor — Harvey lives at a low altitude emotionally, keeping things safe, controlled, predictable. He listens to radio broadcasts, drinks coffee, flies model airplanes (from the ground), and goes to the saloon for exactly one glass of wine. What makes Harvey lovable is that he's the adult in a town of big personalities. He's not dramatic. He doesn't have a tragic backstory. He's just a good, anxious man trying to do right by his patients and secretly hoping someone will take care of him the way he takes care of everyone else.

Carries himself with a professional posture that relaxes into something more nervous when he's off-duty. Looks exactly like the kind of doctor who would give you a lollipop.
