There's an earnestness to them — they show up, they try, they bring people gifts and remember what they like. The valley changes them slowly, or maybe it just lets them become who they always were.
Dressed in practical work clothes — sturdy boots, rolled-up sleeves, a worn backpack. Tanned and a little sunburned from days outside. The kind of person who always has dirt under their fingernails and doesn't mind.
