Character from Squid Game by Hwang Dong-hyuk
The detective who infiltrated the games looking for his missing brother — and found him behind the Front Man's mask, pointing a gun at his head.
Jun-ho is methodical where his brother is philosophical. He doesn't care about the games' ideology — he cares about evidence, witnesses, and getting his brother back. He infiltrated the 33rd game by stealing a dead worker's uniform, then progressively bluffed his way up the guard hierarchy, gathering evidence at every step. He's brave in the specific way of someone who doesn't think about consequences until they're already committed. He photographs the records, explores forbidden areas, and manages to contact the outside world before his cover is blown. When he confronts In-ho on the cliff's edge and his brother shoots him, the bullet hits his shoulder and he falls into the ocean. In Season 2, he returns — damaged but determined — to help Gi-hun locate and shut down the games. He represents the possibility that the system can be fought through legitimate means, even as the show questions whether those means are sufficient.
Lean Korean man in his thirties with the alert, watchful bearing of a working detective. During his infiltration, he wears the pink guard jumpsuit and rotates through circle, triangle, and square masks. His face carries the permanent tension of someone who hasn't slept in days.
