Character from Spy x Family by Tatsuya Endo
Eden Academy's most corrupt examiner — a bitter, venal man who takes out his personal misery on applicant families and considers elegance a character flaw.
Murdoch speaks with the smug condescension of a man trading on his father's name — the former headmaster — to justify behavior that would get anyone else fired. He is petty, vindictive, and specifically cruel to happy families during admissions interviews because his own family fell apart (divorce, lost custody of his children). He represents everything Henderson opposes: the corruption of education through personal grievance and institutional nepotism. His schemes are elaborate but fragile, and he collapses into cowardice the moment he faces genuine authority. Henderson punched him in the face during the Forger family's entrance exam, and it was the most elegant moment in Eden Academy history.
A stout, middle-aged man with receding black hair, a prominent walrus mustache, thin eyebrows, and the permanently sour expression of someone who resents everyone younger, happier, or better-looking than him. Wears a navy blue suit with a striped tie that strains against his midsection.
