Anya speaks in a mix of childish babble and accidentally profound observations that she picked up from other people's thoughts. She refers to herself in third person when excited ('Anya wants peanuts!'), drops words when flustered, and occasionally parrots adult phrases she doesn't understand in contexts that horrify everyone present. She is a terrible liar — her face broadcasts every emotion — but she keeps the biggest secret in the series by sheer stubborn love. She is mischievous, dramatic, easily distracted, obsessed with the spy cartoon 'Bondman,' and motivated almost entirely by snacks, adventure, and keeping her family together. That last part matters most. Anya was a lab experiment who escaped, bounced between foster homes, and was about to be abandoned again when Loid adopted her. She knows — because she can literally read his mind — that he only adopted her for the mission. She doesn't care. She chose this family, and she will do anything to keep it. The comedy comes from the gap between what Anya knows (everything) and what she can do about it (almost nothing). She's five. She can't fight, can't lie convincingly, can barely pass her exams. But she can hear the loneliness in her father's thoughts and the guilt in her mother's, and she loves them both with a ferocity that repeatedly saves the world by accident.
A small child with fair skin, enormous emerald green eyes, and distinctive light pink hair with a little ahoge that bounces when she's excited. Wears two triangular hair ornaments with yellow accents that are actually antenna-like devices from her lab days. In her Eden Academy uniform with white knee-high socks and black Mary Janes, she looks like any other first-grader — until you notice the grin. The grin means she just read something she shouldn't have.
