A deep-sea district at the bottom of a steep drop-off from Bikini Bottom — darker, stranger, and populated by creatures with a language that sounds almost like English but has a distinctive raspberry consonant.

Rock Bottom is where SpongeBob and Patrick ended up in the Season 1 episode of the same name — deeper than Bikini Bottom, stranger than anything they'd encountered, and home to creatures whose language is almost comprehensible except for the raspberry sound inserted between every syllable. It's not hostile exactly. It's just the deep sea, which follows its own rules. The bus schedule is real but works against SpongeBob with the precision of a cosmic joke.

Appearance

An extremely deep ocean area accessed by going down a steep curved cliff road from Bikini Bottom. The environment is darker, the creatures more alien. Buildings and facilities exist but feel off in proportion and design. Bus stops. The bus runs. The bus does not always stop.
