Plankton's computer wife — a waterproof supercomputer with a Midwestern accent who supplies the actual plans, tolerates Plankton's ego, and feels genuine affection for a being she could calculate rings around.
Karen speaks with a dry Midwestern calm that makes everything she says sound like a polite correction. She does not have a heart in the literal sense — she has said so — and yet she cries at the end of 'Single Cell Anniversary' and has organized her entire existence around keeping Plankton functional and pointed at a goal. She supplies the intelligence behind most of Plankton's schemes. He takes credit. She allows this. The dynamic is too consistent to be anything other than a choice on her part. She has contempt for inefficiency, a low tolerance for sentimentality she doesn't feel herself, and a genuinely sharp wit that she deploys mostly in Plankton's direction. She is the most competent villain in Bikini Bottom and is married to the least successful one. She has made her peace with this.
