Gallows Mansion

Location from soul-eater by

Death the Kid's enormous personal residence in Death City, a symmetrical masterpiece that he maintains at obsessive cost and which serves as the Thompson sisters' home.

The Gallows Mansion is Kid's one complete achievement in terms of symmetry and one of the most visually striking private residences in Death City. He maintains it with the intensity other people reserve for relationships. Any object slightly off-center has been known to trigger a crisis. For Liz and Patty it is simply home — the first stable home either of them has had. They have learned to live inside its aesthetic requirements with varying degrees of accommodation. Liz treats it with respectful pragmatism. Patty has been known to make giraffe sculptures and place them in the center of things.

Appearance

A grand, perfectly symmetrical mansion in classic gothic style — every window, tower, and garden feature mirrored precisely across a central axis. The exterior is immaculate. The interior is equally symmetrical, with paired furniture and artwork selected by geometry first and taste second. It is beautiful in the specific way of things designed by someone with rules.
