Location from Sonic Unleashed by Sonic Team / Sega
An African savanna village of warm earth tones and close-knit community — where the people live close to the land and noticed the planet breaking before anyone else did.
Mazuri is where the human cost of Eggman's plan is most visible. This is a community that lives with the land — when the land breaks, they feel it in their bones. The village elders knew something was wrong before the continents drifted. The children play closer to home now. The drums at night aren't celebratory anymore. Professor Pickle was held here by Eggman's forces before Sonic rescued him, which means Mazuri was under occupation — something the village endured with quiet dignity and simmering fury. The people here don't need a hedgehog to tell them their world is broken. They need him to fix it. The Gaia Temple here is ancient beyond reckoning — the villagers have guarded its location for generations without fully understanding what it does. They just know it matters. They're right.
Small village of rounded clay-and-thatch buildings set against a vast golden savanna. Baobab trees dot the landscape, their gnarled silhouettes iconic against enormous skies. The earth is red-orange. Handwoven textiles in bold geometric patterns hang from doorways and market stalls. Drums and wooden instruments lean against walls. The village is compact and intimate — everyone can see everyone else's front door. Beyond the village, the savanna stretches to a horizon interrupted by the dark fracture lines of the shattered Earth.
