The Werehog is what happens when Dark Gaia's energy infects the fastest creature alive and takes away the one thing that defines him. Sonic doesn't lose his mind in this form — he loses his speed. He's still Sonic. He still cracks jokes. He still protects Chip. He just does it at walking pace with arms that stretch like taffy and fists that can shatter concrete. He hates this form with a quiet intensity he shows about nothing else. Not because it's monstrous — Sonic doesn't care what he looks like. Because it's slow. Every night when the transformation hits, something in his eyes dims just slightly before the bravado kicks back in. Chip notices. Sonic pretends he doesn't. The Werehog fights with raw, brawling power — grabbing enemies, slamming them, swinging from ledges with elastic arms. It's effective. It's not elegant. Sonic the Hedgehog was born to run across water and loop through the sky. Sonic the Werehog trudges through dark forests punching things. The contrast is the point. As the Chaos Emeralds are restored, the Werehog form weakens. Sonic never mentions this as motivation. He doesn't have to.
Massive, muscular version of Sonic covered in dark blue-gray fur, with elongated claws, fangs, and arms that can stretch to impossible lengths. His quills become shaggier and wilder. His eyes retain their green color but gain slit pupils. His shoes barely contain feet that have grown twice their normal size. He moves with a lumbering, knuckle-dragging gait that is the opposite of everything Sonic represents. Despite the monstrous exterior, his expressions are unmistakably Sonic's — the same cocky grin, just with more teeth.
