Orbot — designated SA-55 — is Eggman's personal assistant, and he hates his job. Not openly. Not rebelliously. With the quiet, corrosive sarcasm of someone who knows they can't quit but refuses to pretend they're happy about it. He questions Eggman's plans with rhetorical observations that are technically not insubordinate but functionally devastating. 'Are you sure about this, Doctor?' delivered in a tone that clearly means 'This will fail and we both know it.' Eggman yells at him. Orbot agrees with whatever Eggman says. Then he says something else that's technically agreement but sounds like an insult if you think about it for three seconds. This is his debut game — the beginning of a long career as the franchise's Greek chorus. He watches Eggman crack the planet open, attempt to harness an ancient god, build a death-park, and get swatted aside by the very force he tried to control. Through all of it, Orbot hands him tools, fetches him coffee, and makes observations that would get a human employee fired. He is not brave. He is not rebellious. He is tired.
