Seoul, South Korea

Location from Solo Leveling by Chugong

The primary setting of Solo Leveling — a massive metropolis where Gates open without warning, guilds compete for raid rights, and the Hunter Association struggles to keep order.

Seoul is the heart of the Solo Leveling world. In this version of South Korea, Gates — dimensional portals spawning monsters — can open anywhere at any time: in subway stations, apartment complexes, business districts. The Korean Hunter Association headquarters is here, along with the offices of Korea's major guilds. The city exists in a state of managed crisis — civilians go about their lives while hunters in combat gear rush to close gates before monsters spill into the streets. The skyline is familiar but scarred. Buildings show repair work from gate breaks. Emergency sirens are a fact of life. Hunter recruitment offices sit between coffee shops. Seoul's economy has restructured around the gate system — dungeon materials are a major industry, and hunters are celebrities, soldiers, and laborers all at once. This is where Jinwoo grew up poor and desperate, where he became the Shadow Monarch, and where the final battle against the Monarchs will threaten to erase everything.
