The Cartenon Temple is the inner sanctum of the Double Dungeon — a vast stone chamber lined with enormous warrior statues, illuminated by no visible light source, with commandments carved into the walls. When Jinwoo's raid party entered, they triggered a death trap: violate the commandments and the statues attack. Most of the party was slaughtered. Jinwoo survived by solving the final condition, and the System chose him as its player. This is where the Shadow Monarch Ashborn's test was administered — the temple itself was a construct designed to find a vessel worthy of the Shadow Monarch's power.
