Shadow Extraction is the defining ability of the Shadow Monarch and the power that makes Jinwoo unique among all hunters. When an enemy dies, Jinwoo can attempt to extract their shadow — pulling the essence of the fallen into his service as a shadow soldier. The stronger the original enemy, the stronger the resulting shadow, but extraction can fail on particularly powerful targets. Shadow soldiers are loyal, tireless, can be stored in Jinwoo's shadow and summoned at will, and grow stronger as Jinwoo levels up. They retain some memories and abilities from their original form. This is not necromancy in the traditional sense — the shadows are not the original beings, but echoes shaped by the Shadow Monarch's power.
