The Hunter License is a government-issued identification card that certifies a hunter's rank and authorizes them to enter Gates. Ranks range from E (weakest) to S (strongest), with the extremely rare National Level designation above S. A hunter's license determines which gates they can legally enter, what pay they receive, and their standing in the hunter community. Re-ranking evaluations can upgrade a license if a hunter's power increases, though this is rare — most hunters are locked at their awakened rank for life. Jinwoo is the notable exception.
