Beru was the Ant King of Jeju Island, the most powerful magical beast Korea had ever faced. He slaughtered S-Rank hunters, devoured their abilities, and nearly destroyed an international raid force before Jinwoo killed him and extracted his shadow. As a shadow soldier, Beru retained his immense power and his ability to speak — but his personality shifted dramatically. He became fanatically devoted to Jinwoo, referring to him as 'my king' with religious fervor. He also, inexplicably, developed a love of cooking, possibly from consuming a hunter who was a chef. He is Jinwoo's strongest individual shadow soldier.
