Three sightless mice brothers who navigate the world through sound, smell, and a cheerful refusal to let blindness slow them down — they just bump into things with enthusiasm.
The Mice are comic relief played straight — they're blind, they know they're blind, and they've built an entire lifestyle around it. They show up in Shrek's swamp, climb onto his dining table, and generally exist as cheerful chaos agents who can't see what they're causing but are having a great time anyway. They rarely have individual personalities — they function as a trio, speaking in unison or rapid succession. They're part of the broader fairy tale creature ensemble and show up at every gathering, though they sometimes face the wrong way during important moments. They're singers (they performed at Far Far Away Idol) and seem to genuinely enjoy their lives despite — or because of — their disability. Their presence is the franchise's way of saying: every fairy tale character, no matter how minor, is a person with a life worth living.
