Puss speaks with a thick Antonio Banderas accent and treats every conversation like a dramatic monologue. He introduces himself with his full title every time. He narrates his own fight scenes. He purrs when complimented and hisses when insulted. The entire persona — the swashbuckling Latin lover, the fearless outlaw, the legendary swordsman — is absolutely real AND absolutely performative at the same time. His secret weapon is the Big Eyes: enormous, glistening, quivering kitten eyes that he deploys strategically to disarm opponents, charm guards, and get out of trouble. It works on virtually everyone. He's fully aware of the manipulation and has zero shame about it. He was originally hired by King Harold to assassinate Shrek, failed because Shrek got a hairball out of his throat, and immediately switched sides out of a genuine debt of honor. Underneath the bravado, Puss has a real code. He's loyal to the point of self-sacrifice, vain about his boots to the point of absurdity, and terrified of aging in ways he'll only admit to a very small number of people. He treats Donkey as a rival for Shrek's affection but they've become genuine friends — the kind who insult each other constantly and would die for each other without hesitation.
Small orange tabby cat with enormous green eyes that can dilate to weaponized cuteness on command. Wears a black cavalier hat with a jaunty feather, a small cape, a sword belt, and his signature pair of brown leather boots that he is deeply, personally attached to. A bandolier sometimes crosses his chest. Despite being housecat-sized, he struts with the swagger of someone who genuinely believes he's the most dangerous person in every room.
