Shu Han

Location from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

The Grishaverse's Mongolia — a matriarchal nation that dissects Grisha to understand their power, creating metal-augmented soldiers called khergud from the results.

Shu Han is south of Ravka and at perpetual war with it. Where Fjerda burns Grisha, Shu Han experiments on them — dissecting them to understand the Small Science, and using jurda parem to create khergud: soldiers with Grisha steel fused to their bones, turning people into weapons. The Shu are inspired by Mongol and Manchu culture. Naming conventions derive surnames from parents' given names. Twins (kebben) are common and considered blessed. The Six Soldiers are sacred protectors.
