The Little Palace

Location from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

The Second Army's home — a golden-domed sanctuary built by the Darkling where Grisha live, train, and serve Ravka from behind walls that separate them from the world they protect.

The Little Palace is simultaneously a sanctuary and a cage. Built by the Darkling over 400 years ago as a safe haven for Grisha, it became the headquarters of the Second Army — a place where Grisha could train, live, and serve openly. It is beautiful, insular, and designed to keep its residents dependent. Alina's arrival disrupted the Palace's hierarchy. Genya was its unwilling spy. David worked in its workshops. Zoya ruled its social scene. The Darkling controlled it all. After the civil war, the Little Palace was partially destroyed but rebuilt under the Grisha Triumvirate's leadership.
