Location from Severance by Dan Erickson
A gleaming corporate campus that contains a labyrinth beneath it — where the elevators go down and consciousness goes sideways.
Lumon Industries HQ is simultaneously the most boring and most terrifying building in television. Above ground, it's a corporate office. Below ground — through the severance chip's activation in the elevator — it's a sealed world of white hallways, mandatory wellness sessions, and departments where people sort emotions into categories without knowing why. The building has operated in Kier for over a century. It houses the severed floor, the testing floor, the Perpetuity Wing, and whatever else exists in the corridors that even the innies haven't mapped. Petey spent his final days trying to chart it. His map was incomplete.
From outside: a modern corporate campus in the company town of Kier, PE — glass and steel, manicured grounds, parking lots. Respectable, anonymous, the kind of building you'd drive past without a second thought. Inside: the severed floor is reached by elevator, and the descent from normalcy to nightmare takes exactly as long as a door closing.
