Location from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)
Fourth floor, Room 402 — where Sal Fisher lives with his dad, his cat, and his nightmares, the Gear Boy flickering on the dresser.
Room 402 is supposed to be a fresh start — new town, new school, new home after the worst thing that could happen already happened. Instead, it's ground zero for Sal's investigation into the building's secrets. The Gear Boy lights up at strange hours. Gizmo stares at empty corners. The walls occasionally feel warm to the touch in places they shouldn't. Despite all this, there's a tenderness to the space — Henry trying to make it feel like home, Gizmo being a cat, Sal's things slowly claiming their spots. It's a home, even if it's a haunted one.
A small, lived-in apartment with boxes still half-unpacked from the move. Sal's room has a single bed, a dresser with the Gear Boy on it, band posters on the walls, and Gizmo's cat bed in the corner. Henry's room is sparse and functional — a single parent's living space, organized around necessity rather than comfort. The kitchen is tiny. The walls are thin enough to hear neighbors.
