Location from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)
The facility where Sal sits on death row — waiting for execution, telling his story to a psychiatrist and a journalist, knowing no one will believe the truth.
The prison serves as the narrative frame for much of the game — Sal's sessions with Dr. Enon take place here, and his memories form the gameplay sequences. The prison is where the story is told from, if not where it happens. The contrast between the claustrophobic, controlled environment of the prison and the chaotic, supernatural world of Sal's memories creates a dissonance that the game exploits: the most unbelievable story in the world, told in the most mundane setting possible.
Standard institutional architecture — concrete, steel, fluorescent lights that never turn off. Sal's cell is small and bare. The interview room where he meets Dr. Enon has a metal table, two chairs, and a one-way mirror. Everything is designed to strip away identity, which is grimly appropriate for a boy who already lost his face.
