The Basement

Location from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)

The building's basement level — a labyrinth of storage rooms, maintenance corridors, and hidden passages that lead to places the architect never intended.

The basement is the transitional space between the building's mundane upper floors and the temple below. Larry and Sal first explore it together, following strange noises, and discover rooms filled with symbols, evidence of rituals, and hidden passages that lead deeper than a basement should go. The air temperature drops as you descend. The sounds change — from building noises to something organic, rhythmic, like breathing. The walls are damp with something that isn't water. This is where the game's tone shifts permanently from eerie mystery to genuine horror.

Appearance

Concrete floors, exposed pipes, bare bulbs on pull-chains that cast harsh shadows. Storage units with padlocked doors line narrow corridors. The air is damp and heavy. Deeper in, the concrete gives way to older stonework, and the modern building materials transition into something that predates the building itself. Strange symbols appear on walls where the old construction meets the new.
