Sal's Guitar

Item from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)

An electric guitar that Sal plays with surprising skill — a creative outlet for a kid whose face can't show expression, letting the music say what the prosthetic can't.

The guitar is one of the few ways Sal expresses himself beyond words and investigation. Behind the expressionless prosthetic, his emotions need somewhere to go, and the guitar provides it. He's genuinely good — good enough that Larry, whose taste runs toward thrash metal, respects it. In a game about a boy whose face was taken from him, the guitar represents what can't be taken: the ability to create something, to put feeling into the world through a medium that doesn't require a face.

Appearance

A red electric guitar, well-maintained despite Sal's otherwise chaotic teenage life. Covered in a few stickers. Sits propped against the wall in Sal's room when not in use.

Also known as: The Guitar, Sal's Electric Guitar
