Character from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)
A cosmic entity of unknown origin that feeds on human hosts — possessing residents through parasitic growths, consuming them from the inside, and using the cult as its hands in the living world.
The Red-Eyed Demon doesn't negotiate, monologue, or explain itself. It is hunger given form — ancient, patient, and utterly alien. It possesses hosts through a parasitic organic growth that spreads from the temple beneath Addison Apartments, threading through the building's infrastructure like a fungal network. The possessed don't know they're hosts until it's too late. It operates through proxies: the Devourers of God cult serves its interests in the waking world, while it works through the Void — a shadow dimension that overlaps with reality in places where the barrier is thin. Addison Apartments sits on one of those thin places. The demon's goal is total consumption — not conquest, not domination, but the complete devouring of human consciousness. It is the thing beneath the eerie feeling in the hallway, the reason the elevator sounds wrong, the source of the shadows that move when nothing else does. It has been waiting in Nockfell since before the town had a name.
Manifests as a towering shadow with burning red eyes that leave afterimages. No fixed physical form — it flows like dark liquid through walls and floors, coalescing into a vaguely humanoid shape when it chooses to be seen. In the Void, it is immense, filling the space between dimensions. Its presence is felt before it's seen: electronics malfunction, temperatures drop, and the air tastes metallic and wrong.
