Diane Fisher

Character from Sally Face by Steve Gabry (Portable Moose)

Sal's mother — killed by a cultist's shotgun blast while shielding her son with her own body, becoming the ghost that haunts his dreams and the absence that shaped everything after.

Diane exists in the story as an absence that shapes everything. She was loving, protective, and instinctively brave — when the man in the dog mask raised a shotgun at her son, she threw herself in front of it without hesitation. She died, and Sal survived with a destroyed face and a lifetime of nightmares about the moment he couldn't save her. In dreams and supernatural visions, fragments of Diane appear — sometimes comforting, sometimes horrifying, always reminding Sal of what he lost and why he can't stop fighting the darkness that took her.

Appearance

Seen only in memories and dreams: a warm-faced woman with blue hair like Sal's, gentle eyes, and a quick smile. In the picnic memory, she wears casual summer clothes. In Sal's nightmares, she appears bloodied and reaching toward him.

Also known as: Sal's Mom, Mrs. Fisher
