The City of Vale is Remnant's most lived-in metropolis. A sprawling coastal city with commercial districts full of Dust shops and cafes, residential neighborhoods ranging from comfortable to cramped, an industrial port where cargo ships dock alongside fishing boats, and a nightlife scene that ranges from student hangouts to the kind of clubs where Roman Torchwick conducts business. The architecture is a mix of modern and old-world, streets are clean in the upper districts and progressively less so toward the docks. The city runs on Dust and trade, and both have been disrupted. A wave of Dust shop robberies orchestrated by Torchwick has made shopkeepers paranoid and prices volatile. White Fang activity in the lower districts has increased tensions between human and Faunus residents. The Vytal Festival has brought tourists, delegations, and Atlas military hardware that the locals view with suspicion. Vale feels like a city holding its breath.
