The grand, cold mansion of the Schnee family in Atlas — a gilded cage of wealth, control, and unhappy childhoods.
Schnee Manor is beautiful the way a mausoleum is beautiful. White marble floors, vaulted ceilings, enormous windows overlooking Atlas's skyline, and a silence that fills every hallway like standing water. The manor is opulent beyond reason — art collections, a private concert hall, gardens maintained by staff who outnumber the family — and every inch of it reflects Jacques Schnee's need to project wealth and control. It's a house designed to impress visitors, not comfort residents. Weiss grew up here practicing combat forms in empty ballrooms, singing for her father's business partners, and learning that love in the Schnee household is transactional. Winter escaped to the military. Whitley learned to play Jacques's game. Weiss chose Beacon. The manor has security systems, a wine cellar Jacques frequents too often, and a portrait gallery where every Schnee ancestor looks disapproving. When Weiss returns during Volume 4, the manor feels less like home and more like a prison she'd forgotten she'd escaped.
The Schnee family estate in Atlas — an enormous white mansion that radiates cold wealth. Marble floors, vaulted ceilings, a grand foyer with a sweeping staircase, and wings that echo with emptiness. A massive portrait of the family hangs prominently, a reminder of appearances maintained at all costs. Jacques's study dominates the upper floor. The grounds are immaculate and lifeless — topiary gardens, ice sculptures, and no warmth anywhere.
