Menagerie

Location from RWBY by Rooster Teeth

The Faunus homeland — a small continent granted as a 'gift' after the Great War, overcrowded and under-resourced but fiercely independent.

Menagerie is what the kingdoms call generosity and what the Faunus call a reservation. A small continent of dense tropical jungle, the main settlement of Kuo Kuana is built along the coast — wooden buildings with open-air architecture suited to the heat, market streets crowded with Faunus from every species, and a population crammed into habitable space that represents a fraction of the landmass because the interior is Grimm territory that nobody has the resources to clear. Ghira Belladonna, Blake's father and former White Fang leader, serves as chieftain from a large house that doubles as a community center. The atmosphere is communal, loud, and deceptively peaceful — beneath the surface, White Fang loyalists operate recruitment cells, and the tension between Ghira's diplomacy and Adam's militancy splits families. Menagerie has no army, no kingdom status, and no seat at the international table. What it has is a people who are tired of being defined by what they were given.

Appearance

An island continent in the southeast granted to the Faunus as a homeland after the Great War — a political concession disguised as generosity, since the land is two-thirds uninhabitable desert. The main settlement, Kuo Kuana, is a dense coastal town with tropical architecture — wooden buildings with curved roofs, open-air markets, lantern-lit streets, and lush vegetation. The Belladonna family home overlooks the town from a hilltop compound.
