The northern kingdom — a floating city of military power and technological supremacy hovering above the impoverished city of Mantle.
Atlas is a monument to what happens when fear drives innovation. The entire upper city floats above the tundra on a platform held aloft by the Relic of Creation, gleaming with hard-light barriers, robotic sentinels, and architecture so white and sterile it feels like living inside a laboratory. The Schnee Dust Company headquarters dominates the skyline, and General Ironwood's military academy doubles as the kingdom's governing body — here, the line between soldier and student, general and politician, barely exists. Below, Mantle freezes. The working-class city on the surface gets Atlas's scraps — aging heating systems, underfunded police, and a growing resentment that the elites above them literally look down on their suffering. The kingdom runs on Dust, discipline, and denial. When Salem's forces finally reach Atlas, the question isn't whether the technology can hold — it's whether the people will.
A gleaming technological marvel — the city of Atlas literally floats above the crater-scarred surface of Mantle on an enormous gravity-Dust platform. White spires, geometric architecture, and blue-lit transit lines define the upper city, while Mantle below is a grey industrial sprawl choked with smog and poverty. Military airships patrol constantly. The contrast between the pristine floating city and the neglected ground below defines Atlas's central tension.
