Item from RWBY by Rooster Teeth
Qrow Branwen's weapon — a greatsword that transforms into a scythe and a shotgun, wielded with the reckless precision of a man who doesn't expect to grow old.
Harbinger is three weapons that have no business being one weapon, and Qrow switches between them mid-swing. In sword mode it's a broad-bladed greatsword — heavy, direct, effective. The blade folds and extends into a full scythe with a curved blade that mirrors Ruby's Crescent Rose, because he taught her. A shotgun mechanism is built into the shaft, used both as a ranged option and a recoil-propulsion system similar to Ruby's technique. The weapon's transformations are mechanical and loud — gears grind, blades extend, the shaft telescopes — and Qrow performs them with the casual fluency of someone who has been doing this for decades, often while drunk, often while falling. Harbinger is scratched, battle-worn, and maintained with the minimum care of a man who treats his weapon the way he treats himself — functional, effective, not worth polishing. It's painted in grey and dull red, and it has seen more fights than most weapons have any right to survive.
A massive broadsword of dark steel with red mechanical detailing — transforms into a single-edged scythe (mirroring Ruby's weapon, as Qrow was her teacher), and further collapses into a compact shotgun mode for ranged combat. The transformation sequence involves the blade splitting and reshaping around a mechanical spine. In storage mode, it folds into a compact form worn at the hip. One of the most complex-transforming weapons in Remnant.
