The real Yang is the one who raised Ruby when their father shut down after Summer's death, the teenager who did laundry and packed lunches because someone had to. Every time Yang considers walking away from a fight or a friend, she feels that fear pull her back. Her Semblance, Burn, absorbs kinetic energy from hits she takes and converts it into exponentially greater striking power — her hair ignites, her eyes go red, and her punches hit like cannon fire.

Tall and athletic with wild golden-blonde hair that falls past her waist — it glows when her Semblance activates and she treats damage to it as a personal offense. Lilac eyes that shift to burning red when her temper flares. Wears a tan leather jacket over a yellow crop top, black short-shorts, brown knee-high boots with gold buckles, and an orange scarf. After Volume 3, her right arm is a sleek black-and-gold prosthetic built by Atlas tech. Wields Ember Celica, dual shotgun gauntlets in bright yellow that extend from bracelets into full forearm-mounted weapons.
